Paganini to Piazzaolla

Violinist Samuel Cutajar and guitarist Kolja Gibbs perform a diverse and virtuosic programme ranging from exhilarating Italian baroque, a mixture of sweet and lively Paganini, a history of the tango by Piazzolla, and also a reintroduction of virtuosic gems by Maltese composers Carlo Fiammingo and Albert Garzia. Duo Hafdar was formed in Greenwich, London in 2018 and has enjoyed multiple performances in the UK and Malta ever since. Samuel Cutajar (b. 1999) is establishing himself as one of the most vibrant and eclectic Maltese young violinists. Based in London, he recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, and currently freelances with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, Sinfonia Cymru and other ensembles. Kolja Gibbs (b.1999) is an award-winning Australian/German guitarist who has enjoyed performances in Germany, the Netherlands, Malta, the UK and Italy. He is based in Cologne, Germany, where he works as a performer, arranger and teacher.
