2nd Malta Festival of Ideas ǀI am Alex - Moveo Dance Company

BOTH in Maltese and English “I am Alex” is slang for believing you’re the main character in everyone’s story—a symbol of ego in a self-obsessed culture. Choreographed by Dorian Mallia of Moveo Dance Company, the work explores self-perception, conflict, and the pursuit of peace. Staged at Casino Maltese, the audience sits in facing rows while dancers move between them, mirroring the tension between denial and acceptance of the ego. The piece suggests that peace arises not from erasing conflict but from engaging with it—embracing our narratives and shared humanity to find harmony.
